Placement at NIT Patna is very moderate and mediocre. If placement for you means getting a job at the end of your degree then for that reason you need not worry at any NIT. Companies like IBM, Havells, Wipro, Reliance, Maruti, Tata, ABB, Vedanta are few to name which are top recruiter in NITs. If you are inclined towards the IT sector or if you have an interest in programming then you will surely land up with a good job having a decent pay scale in comapnies like Oracle and Polaris.

Core companies do come to the institute but the intake is 25% for the whole batch. PSUs also visit the campus but recruits only toppers. So you will need to work hard and efficiently if you want to get recruited in a core company or with a PSU.

Also NIT is a brand, it will definitely land you in a good place with a good bunch of people. If you getting something better than this you should definitly not give a second thought about it but if fail to upgrade your college then NIT Patna is the right place. NIT Patna is ranked 87.
