Hello,
The difficulty level of JEE exams are slightly higher than school exams. For example if there is a simple question , like if you are walking from A to B tell the difference. Whereas the same question will be little twisted in JEE. You need to understand the concept and then answer them. However, the number of theory based questions are pretty low. On an average about 3 questions out of the 30 are theory based. Sometimes only one question may be theory based. Sometimes you may get a maximum of 5–7 theory based questions. But clearly there are more numericals.
Additionally, while JEE covers both Class 11th& 12th syllabus, Boards cover only Class 12th syllabus. Unlike JEE, there is no negative marking in Boards. Moreover, while Boards are conducted in Offline mode, JEE is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
Hope this helps!!!
