how b.voc is different from b.disgn ? If i take b.voc for fashion designing then it would be good or not?

B.Design  in Fashion Technology :-

It is a 4-year undergraduate course, the minimum eligibility for which is a Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) qualification with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. The program is spread over 8 semesters, with the final semester being based on the candidate’s chosen stream of study.

Admission to the course is based on the candidate’s performance in a relevant qualifying examination. Some institutes such as NIFT conduct their own entrance test for assessing and shortlisting candidates for admission.

Job types:

Fashion Coordinator, Cutting Assistant, Costume Designer, Graphic Designer, Fashion Consultant, Personal Stylist, Fabric Buyer, Technical Designer, Show Room Sales Representative, Illustrator, Fashion Show Organizer, Fashion Show Coordinator, among others.

Salary:

Salary package also depends on what kind of firm you are joining, like a startup, or a product company, or joining the renowned designer.

It can range from 3 lakhs per annum to 4 to 5 lakhs per annum approx. in the starting stage. Rest depends on how you are growing and learning to perform better. Chose your company wisely.

B.voc. in Fashion Technology

Bachelor of Vocational studies in Fashion, students not only get the relevant technical expertise to step into a professional world, but they also are educated in skills like drawing, draping, pattern making, sewing, haute couture along with training in production. The programme establishes strong technical skills required to work as an innovative practicing fashion designer. The programme covers design, drawing, fashion history and theory, textiles, sewing, pattern making and marketing. Students also develop the required technical skills in custom and commercial quality garment construction as well as pattern making both manually and using computer-based design.

Job types:

Fashion consultant, personal stylist, technical designer, fabric quality control manager, Fashion Buyer, Fashion Coordinator, Fashion Merchandiser Quality Control Manager, Textiles and Print Designer, Production Supervisors, Quality Controllers, Pattern Makers in Garment / Apparel Industries, Fashion Product Development Manager, Work in Fashion Labels, independent and collaborative Design Studios.

Salary:

After the course is over, there are job opportunities available in the broad areas of Fashion Designing, Textile Designing, Apparel Merchandising etc. The initial salary for Bachelor degree holders in Fashion Technology ranges from 15,000 INR to 25,000 INR per month . B.Des. would be a better option while looking at the salary and the wide range of Jobs available

I would suggest you to go for BDes since it provides more technical approach and the course is much more oriented and focussed as far as fashion designing is concerned. BVoc course is more of a general approach course and its placement prospects are not so better as BDes.
