How can a student give exam for an additional subject from the same board after completing 12th pcm? How does it called supplementary or improvement or compartment ?

If in case a student isn't satisfied with his/her marks in CBSE examination, then they can give an improvement examination for a particular subject, if a student fails in a subject then they can't be eligible for appearing in this  improvement examination, however you must note that in the report card infront of result pass improvement will be stated  for the particular subject.

In order to appear for the improvement examination you need to go on the official website of CBSE and then you need to select improvement examination from the home page and fill in the required details which will be asked and click on submit.

As a private candidate you can opt for an additional subject after having passed the Senior School Certificate Examination of the board.

If in case, you had given the exam of that additional subject, and you want to improve your marks, you can  apply for improvement exam. You can apply for improvement examinations in one or more subjects.

If in case a student had failed an examination, students cannot take an improvement test for that subject and must instead take compartment tests.

Also, to give an improvement exam, a student can take improvement exam in the succeeding year following class 12th.
