Hii

A food inspector is an official that analyzes the safety and quality of the food products and the ingredients used in production as well as the equipments and place of production.
Also the food distributors, processors and manufacturers are monitors by the food inspector for the safety and sanitation voilations to avoid adulteration and contamination.

The eligibility to become a food inspector is a Bachelors degree. Let me give you descriptive steps -
First of all, you are required to complete you bachelors degree in science stream. It is better that you complete your bachelors in eithe biology, food technology, physics or agricultural science. The Bachelors degree to can prefer are Btech in food technology, BSc. biology, Bsc Physics, or BSc agriculture. For these degrees you will require to qualify class 12th with science stream.
After completing your bachelors you will become eligible for Food Inspector Exam which is conducted by various state and central government. (example punjab food inspector test).
Incase you do not wish to go to govt sector, you can choose to join in Food Processing units or granary in private sector.
Although highest vacances for foot inspector are in govt sector but the career prospects are increasing in both govt as well as in private sector.

The salary one can expect in govt sector range from Rs. 35000 to 40000 plus the perks. But this will vary from state to state.
In private sector, the salary would start from Rs. 20000 but will incream with experience and go far beyond that in govt sector.

Hope this helps
For any doubt feel free to revert back.
Thanks!
