Science is a multidisciplinary course having different subjects’ combinations in class 12th. These combinations can be PCB ( Physics , Chemistry and Biology ), PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology).
So, there are a number of options included in the word "Science". Out of which you must narrow down and select the particular subject you want to bag. Having a good career in science, the student has a wide range of options to go ahead. It starts with bachelor’s degree ( B.Sc ), master’s degree ( M.Sc ) and then Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) in a variety of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science , Microbiology, Biotechnology among others.
Since the science course can be pursued as UG, PG and PhD, the eligibility criteria are different for each category. Below are the criteria’s for UG and PG Science course –

There are a number of Entrance examinations for Science which can make you get a Government seat and also many scholarships for the same. After Master's by cracking CSIR/JRF or UGC NET/JRF, you may join any Government Institution as a Junior Research Fellow.

Becoming a research scientist requires a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in their field of study depending on the role they want to fulfill and experience it needs. After 12 th join for your bachelor's degree in your desired field or area of interest(BSc, BTech, BPharm etc,). After that, join for masters degree then you can take Ph. D. After you degree if you want to join ISRO, ISRO conducts entrance exam to recruit engineers or scientist so you can participate in that if you are interested.You may find that experience in other jobs will help you become a research scientist. In fact, many research scientist jobs require experience in a role such as research assistant. Meanwhile, many research scientists also have previous career experience in roles such as research associate or research fellow
