You should be done with 10+2 to pursue genetic engineering with aggregate of 60% in PCM. The main entrance exams through which you can aim for quality genetic engineering are JEE MAINS, VITEEE, SRMEEE, BIT SAT, JEE ADVANCED, etc.

You need to have physics, chemistry and biology in your 12 th. You should have passed with more than 60%
This is a four year course and the fees varies from 2 lakh to 10 lakhs. I would recommend you IISc(Indian Institute of Science, bangalore) to pursue this course as it's a government Institute and one of the best in the country with fees of only about 25000.
