English honours can be taken up by any student persuing any stream. There is no fixed catergorisation for subject requirement. Only pre- condition for opting English honours is that you need to include English as a subject in the count of best four percentage.
If you are planning to take up English honours you must be aware about the fact that this course demands extensive readingyou have to read up text, sub text , underlined text , background to text and a lot more. It also has background of history and historical periods.

B.A. English Honours is a 3- year undergraduate course, minimum eligibility for which is a 10+2 or intermediate qualification. Successful pursuance of the course prepares candidates for careers in fields such as teaching, media, advertising, writing, and publishing, for further graduate or professional studies in English, communications, or law; and for other fields requiring competent communication skills.
To get admission in foreign countries you have to give the enterance exam for that country.
