Candidates are chosen for admission to VIT Vellore courses based on their performance on the most recent entrance or qualifying exam.  For admission to BTech, MTech, and PhD programs, the institute administers VITEEE, VITMEE, and VITREE.  Merit is taken into consideration for courses such as BCom, BCA, BSc, etc.
