Dear Aspirant,
Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws[ B.A.L.L.B.] is a dual degree course in administrative law. BA LLB is a five year course. Having passed a 10+ 2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with a recommended minimum of 50% of the total, an applicant may apply for this course. Admission to most law schools / universities is achieved through a regional or university level entrance test.
Applicants will usually seek admission to this course via entrance exams. There are also direct admissions to some institutes. Admission exams are performed at all levels of India as well as at the state or university level. This technical course covers topics such as history, economics, sociology, etc., as well as broad areas of law such as tax law, criminal law and corporate law, etc.
The eligibility requirements for the BA LLB course shall be the score of minimum aggregate marks as required by the institute for a senior secondary examination or equivalent examination by the recognized board. The general route of entry to this program is through the entrance exam.
Since the entrance exam is the preferred method, the candidates with the results expected in the senior secondary examination are allowed to apply for the course. In some institutes, direct admission is another route of entry offered to this course.
The common entrance to BA LLB goes through the entrance exam. Entrance exams for this function are CLAT, LSAT and AILET.
Several institutes also conduct personal interviews for final selection after the entry. There are a couple of institutes like C. Bhimasen Rao National College of Law, Karnataka, which offer direct admission to this course on the basis of a merit list.
Hope this helps. All the best!
