How can I get into this hotel management field without taking entrance exam. Is it possible?

Depending upon the choice and preferance of your college this will matter. There a number of coleges who do not consider entrance cut offs but ony criteria of the HSC exam. In such cases, you can select a college that will provide yu a brighter future. However, certain top colleges would still ask for your entrance cut off scores.

Giving entrance exam for getting admission in Hotel Management Institutes is not important these days. Its totally depend on the Colleges weather consider it or not. You can get direct admission in many reputed HM colleges without giving any test. As you know hotel management is fast becoming every student’s preferred course choice primarily Due to its scope and good placements available.

However few top colleges require entrance exam such as

NCHMCT-JEE

(National Council For Hotel Management And Catering Technology).This is mainly for admission in IHMs and having 8124 seats. Maximum marks are 200 which includes 50 for service aptitude,30 for GK /GS, 60 for English,30 for reasoning and 30 for quant. Eligibility is 12th pass with English subject.

IPU ENTRANCE TEST

This entrance test is for 120 seats in a single college in GGSIPU(Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University). Eligibility is 50% in 12th. Maximum marks are 150 which includes GK/GS, English, Quant and Reasoning

Besides this, you can apply for WELCOME GROUP-ITC Manipur/Gurgaon and STEPS-OBEROI GROUP which have 180 and 100 seats respectively which take admissions through Group discussions and Personal Interview.
