The undergraduate course for travel and tourism management is BBA (TT) from the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, which is under the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. IITMs are the most sought-after colleges for doing travel and tourism management courses.
1. The IITM has centres in the following cities-
Gwalior, NOIDA, Bhubaneswar & Nellore which offer UG course.
Eligibility criteria for entrance examination:
-The candidates who have passed 10 + 2 examinations in any subject from a recognized University/ Board with a minimum of 50% marks for UR / OBC (45% for SC / ST / PWD) are eligible to apply.
- Candidates appearing in final year examination of 10+ 2 are also eligible to apply, subject to they must submit their result of graduation with the requisite percentage.
- Candidates seeking admission to BBA (TT) program shall not be more than 22 Years as on 1st July 2019 for UR / OBC. (Age relaxation of 5 years will be applicable to SC / ST candidates).
Admission Process:
1)Those candidates that are eligible have to appear in written test “IGNTU IITTM Admission Test (IIAT)” to be conducted by IGNTU &IITTM. Admission Test will be held on June 9, 2019 (Sunday) (tentative) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at IITTM centres.
2) Group Discussion and Personal Interview:
Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for GD and PI at any one of the IITTM centres, which they have to mark in the admission form:
-IITTM Bhubaneswar
-IITTM Gwalior
-IITTM Nellore
-IITTM Noida
Selection procedure:
The admission would be strictly on the basis of overall performance of written test + GD + PI, as explained follows:
i. Written Test: IGNTU IITTM Admission Test (IIAT) 2019: 70%
ii. Group Discussion: 15%
iii. Personal Interview: 15%

· Declaration of seat allotment (for waitlisted candidates): July 19, 2019
· Commencement of Academic Session: July 22, 2019

Private colleges offering travel and tourism management courses :
Apart from IITTM, there are several Private Colleges that offer courses like-
-Bachelors in Travel and Tourism Management
-BA Travel and Tourism Management
-Bachelor in Tourism Management (B.T.M)
-Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management
Which you can opt for. Generally, admission in private colleges is open till July. But, there can be different criteria for these depending on the State, University they are affiliated to etc. Hence, visit the website of the particular college and course you are interested in to be fully updated.
Also, before opting for Private Colleges, it is advisable to check their approval status, rank etc.
