How can I prepare for IAS by doing a btech degree nicely and confidently

Hi buddy,if you wish to prepare for UPSC in future after your btech degree. You must focus on your degree syllabus after your degree you can go for UPSC IES(If your branch is mechanical  civil electrical or ece) .if you prepare well and your branch is mechanical or civil, they can act as your optional subject.Otherwise you can still clear UPSC as engineering widen your brain and grasping power.you can see past result of UPSC (engineers are everywhere. Prepare well and all the best for your future.

First UPSC is no easy exam. Grab a lot of information from books prescribed by UPSC in syllabus section and then start turning them to your own opinion. Studying and covering syllabus just gives you an overview and application of those will result in success.

As a B.Tech Student you'll be busy with huge amount of work to do.

2. These 4 years while in your holidays/sem-break/free-time/weekend etc. go through GS topics in NCERTs. You might be familiar with them in school else do them now.
3. Do nothing more as an Engineering student. The rest will require not more than 3 months and the time will be there for you after your 4-2 Final exams until the notification/prelims date.
4. After prelims do your optional which should be devoted most of time, as you have the habit of covering The Hindu.

Yojana, Kurukshetra, etc. can be done after prelims for detailed knowledge.

Be thorough with the NCERTs, Current affairs. My suggestion is “Devote time for your Graduation, Spare time can be used for UPSC” without graduation you can't do it immediately after 4th year.

It's good that you want to do your BTech degree along with UPSC civil services. Most of the engineering students do not take there branch paper in UPSC exam. But as you want to do BTech nicely along with BTech you can take your branch paper in UPSC. The best way is to go on unacademy which itself is founded by IAS and you will get complete guidance there. For engineering you can easily study 2-3 hours consistently you can easily get good marks.
