Hello,
To become a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) officer in India, follow these steps:
1. Educational Qualification :-
- A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Criminology is acceptable , but degrees in Law, Political Science, or Criminal Justice may also help.
2. Exams to Clear :-
- Through SSC CGL (Sub-Inspector in CBI)
- Through UPSC Civil Services (IPS officers in CBI)
- Through Internal Promotions (For existing officers in police/other services)
Hope it helps !
To become a CBI officer in India, you can take two main paths. The most common is through the UPSC Civil Services Exam, which leads to the Indian Police Service (IPS). After serving as an IPS officer, you can be deputed to the CBI. A criminology degree is highly beneficial for IPS officers, especially CBI aspirants, as it provides a strong foundation in understanding crime and investigation. The other route is via the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam, which can lead to positions like Sub-Inspector in the CBI. While not mandatory, a criminology degree can be advantageous for the SSC CGL exam as well. Criminology equips you with knowledge of criminal law, criminal behavior, investigative skills, and analytical thinking—all crucial for CBI work. Focus on exam preparation (UPSC CSE or SSC CGL), maintain physical fitness, and develop strong communication skills. Your criminology background is an excellent foundation for this career.
i hope i will do my best !
