see data science is totally a different field from mechanical engineering and you need to start freshly . first of all you have to get basic understanding of probability and statistics, then learn python and r programming. there is many data analytics tools are available like power BI , sass etc.

you may follow udemy, courses, nptel lectures to learn about data science.
