How can I upgrade my branch at VIT ?

Branch change at good colleges is very hard and is based on numbers of seat available in 2nd year (3rd semester) , if you want to change your Branch you have to be among the top students of the class as the branch change is based on CGPA(academic result) then you have to contact the VIT administration , if you have good result and seats are available they will change your branch.
Branch change is possible in second year only.

Vellore institute of technology has a very excellent system called student migration program through which you could upgrade your branch. At the end of 1st and 2nd semester respectively the authorities give a mail to everyone in which they can apply for upgrade in their branches by filling out the application form and paying a certain amount. Now it is not that if you feel that form and pay the fee you will surely get an upgrade, as the number of transfers made is very small in a particular branch and hence your academic performance is taken into consideration while deciding the same. Individuals with better grades are given preference over others but atleast you have an opportunity.
