Every B.E./B.Tech. programs are affiliated with Anna University and SSN college obeys the admissions plans legislated by the University. Admission for 65% of the seats is accomplished through single window counselling as per Anna University standards. These seats at SSN are filled up within the early few days of counselling with considerably high cut-off marks. The rest 35% of the seats of the management quota are also admitted on merit. 25 seats are reserved for students who exceed in both their studies and sports and another 25 seats are allocated free for the toppers of Government rural schools of Tamil Nadu on a ‘scholarship for excellent learners from rural areas. In addition, 15 toppers from State Board Schools are given free education at SSN under the‘ walk-in-walk-out’ scholarship.
Eligibility
The nomination of aspirants will be established on the Qualifying marks (Q) earned in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in 10+2 or equivalent. Q = M + ((P+C) / 2), where M, P and C are percentage marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Nomination is established entirely on Merit. Only submission of data-sheet is not an assurance for nomination.
For admission in the management quota which has a 35% reservation, you have to complete a different application form provided by SSN. You can obtain it from the college or their office in Mylapore, CHENNAI. Once you have completed the form, you will be contacted for an examination and interview established on your 12th standard cutoffs again. If your achievement in both the entrance examination and the interview is decent then you will get admission. SSN admits students through management quota only on merit and does not encourage any donation for that matter.
