Kanika, it depends on the reason why you want to go abroad. You have to apply for a Visa before going to countries that require one. There are few countries that do not require visa before hand. You can land in the country and then get a visa. But most of the countries require Visa depending on the reason you want to visit the country. Now there are Study visa, dependant visa, tourist visa, worker's visa, etc So it depends on the country that you visit and the purpose that you want to visit the country for.
