Hello Aspirant,

Around 1.6 lakh students appeared for VITEEE this year. The results will be declared around the 24th of April but can delay 1 or 2 days. VIT conducts this exam, and they don't make any information regarding question and evaluation process public . They have their own algorithms and rank calculating methods, which are very different, because of which many deserving students get very poor rank. The most common prediction is that the University decides your rank not only on the basis of how many questions you did correct but also on how many questions you did wrong! by this, they test your confidence and approach towards answers. Random guessing makes you move down in the rank list. Probably this is a trap for appearing candidates, as there is no negative marking so most of the people try to attempt all the questions, and this is where their ranking goes down. Therefore instead of guessing it is better to leave the question. But this method is only followed in case the ranks of two or more people coincide.

Therefore from your marks, i.e. 20(1 mark per question), let us consider your marks to be 30. Therefore, I can say don't trust the rank predictor for this exam.

Remember, the rank predictor is not official, it gathers data from previous records. Last time around 2.4 lakh students appeared for this exam, so the situation was completely different. I would suggest you wait for the results. Also, there are several manipulations because of the category system in VIT. Therefore, please don't think the rank predicted by the predictor to be true. Since you are saying you got 20 marks, expect your rank around 1 lakh. Below I can tell you what all branches you may get based on your score;

CSE @ Vellore is the most preferred branch, and all others come after that. CSE at the Chennai campus is also one of the most preferred choices. IT at Vellore campus and after that ECE at Vellore is normally preferred by students. So your chances of getting the respective branch will be dependent on this order. But if you get rank under 17k, you can get IT at the Vellore campus, getting similar in Chennai and Bhopal campus is easier. The Bhopal campus has a different procedure for counseling. Refer to their website www.vitbhopal.ac.in

I would say if you really want to go for VIT, at nominal fees, don't expect anything at the main campus, you may get something at the Chennai campus, but not CSE. Please expect a good branch at Bhopal or AP campus with such marks only.

Hope this helps.

Regards
