The entrance exam pattern for PGI Chandigarh is entirely different from other Medical Colleges. They have partly single best answer type questions and partly multiple correct answer type questions. The second type of questions are tricky, i.e., even after picking up one right answer there may still be another 4 correct answers to the same question. If you are confused you may end up choosing 4 more wrong answers for the same question and increase your negative markings. Thus, each question is more discriminating than the standard examination. PGI Chandigarh exam needs a separate dedicated preparation. It is very important to know the previous years papers and the approximate marks scored by previous years' toppers. If the topper had scored about 75% marks, you need not aim to mark all choices and aim for 90%. You may end up getting more negative marks. In order to achieve the right balance of positive and negative scoring, the advice from previous batch of seniors belonging to the same department will be very useful. Hope this helps!!!
