Yes, NCERT books are good to build your concepts strong but if you want to get a good rank you have to prefer other books as well.
You can solve past year papers to know the pattern of the exam, solve as many MCQs for your practice. You can also solve mock test papers twice or thrice a week to judge your performance and to know your strength and weakness.
