How does st joseph college autonomous conduct exams? Do they conduct semester wise or one full year exam?
St Josephs college is an autonomous institution under banglore University which has right to conduct its own internal and semester examinations.Evaluation system(theory paper) of PG and UG courses consists of two components.The practical evaluation,like theory,also involves two components, practical internal assessment and semester examination with weightage of 30% and 70% respectively.Continuous assessment for UG courses:10% of the total marks per paper will be awarded based on the performance in any one activity (seminar,assignment,project,quiz,classroom discussion,model making etc).Another 15% of the marks will be awarded on the basis of a mid semester test held midway through the semester.5 marks will be awarded based on the percentage of attendance in theory classes.Same as for PG courses.Only those students who secure minimum 75% attendance in each theory paper are eligible to write the semester examination.A student who is not eligible to write the semester examination has to repeat the semester.Practical Examination will be held after completing 14 weeks of the semester.Theroy Examination will be conducted in the 16th week of the semester.UG students must complete their course within 5 years(3+2) and PG students within 4 years(2+2).Each UG student must earn minimum of 130 credits to complete the course and each PG students must earn 100 credits to complete the course.
