· Professors are very qualified. Most professors have masters and doctorate degrees from top universities of the world. They are excellent in their respective fields

· Excellent curriculum. Our curriculum is well designed. It is rigid enough to ensure that we learn the most important concepts in CS. At the same time, it is flexible enough to allow YOU to choose our courses in fourth year. Besides, the minor program helps students to learn about other disciplines.

Other worth mentioning points:

· IIT BOMBAY have projects in almost all courses. So, IIT BOMBAY have lots of content for our resume. Moreover, this also facilitates practical learning.

· IIT BOMBAY have many lab courses. Labs help YOU to apply what you learnt in theory.

· IIT BOMBAY have more academic load. I have interacted with several friends at other IITs and without a doubt I can say that IIT BOMBAY have more academic load. You may take that as a negative point. Most people here take that as a challenge ;)

· IIT BOMBAY have the Bombay city advantage. You may argue that city doesn't matter. I'll argue that it matters. I spent first 18 years of my life in the city of Kanpur. 3 years in Mumbai have taught me way more than those 18 years in Kanpur.

· Startup environment. Lots of students go for startups. This opens internship opportunities for IIT Bombay students.

· Second year internships. Most colleges do not have a formal procedure for second year internship. We at IIT Bombay have a body called as placement and training cell that takes care of second year internships as well!

· Alumni network. IIT BOMBAY have an excellent alumni network. A lot of IIT Bombay students are working at top companies. Many of them are at leading positions in top companies of Silicon Valley. They are always ready to help and guide YOU.

· Internet. IIT BOMBAY have excellent Internet facilities. You can find WiFi in all buildings. Of course, hostels have high speed ethernet as well. You may argue that so is the case with all colleges. Remember, I'm not talking about speed here. I'm talking about connectivity. Most IITs have speed/time/download restrictions. IIT BOMBAY don't have any such issues

· Top quality lecture halls. You should definitely do a Google search about this. I won't speak much here.

· The CSE advantage. Everyone knows that the JEE rank cutoffs for IITB CSE are close to 50. When you meet your friends at other colleges, they automatically see you with respect.

· The JEE rank advantages. Companies like Samsung Korea, etc select students for internships based on JEE rank!

Overall, I'd like to say that you should indeed study to your maximum and aim for IITB CSE. It's truly the best college for Computer Science in India.

Well CS from IIT Bombay is like a dream come true even for those who cracked JEE easily.Rather find first where you stand and then prepare for the college you can get admission to.Selection Process is not so fair in India.One small mistake on your part can lead you to take Civil that too may be not from IIT Bombay.
