Dear Aspirants,

Firstly , you should have to ask yourself that you really don't want to take drop anymore because in last you will be the only one who suffer and may be not satisfied. And its okay if you've interest in other fields , you can achieve there too but hard work needs everywhere whether in neet preparation or any other competitive exams. To convince your parents , first you need to accept your mistakes. Tell them that you studied nothing in your 1st drop (Okay, to be less rude — didn't studied much) , tell them about the mistakes that you did in your drop year. It will make them feel good that you are at least accepting your mistakes.

Thank you!

Best wishes:)

Hi aspirant
As per your question I assume you have already given NEET after taking a drop year. In your drop year you must have gone through a lot, not only physical and academical challenges but mental challenges too. You now, are completely aware of what your strengths and weakness are. You must have also analysed yourself what were the mistakes you did that resulted in what you didn't want.
First if all, you need to ask yourself, that whether you are at such a level where you can improve yourselves, and whether you are willing to improve or not. All of us have an idea of what our potential is. Our parents have it too. If you believe that improving yourself till your selection is feasible for you, you can try giving it another shot. However if you know that it's not your cup of tea and you might excel in some other field, you should explain it to your parents. Tell them it's not worth wasting your time and hard work on something you don't want to do. Even if the results favour you, you still won't be happy doing it. I've seen many instances where even after fetching a seat in a prestigious medical college and even after studying for an year in the course, the students left the course midway!! Why? Because the weren't interested. They felt they did not belong there. Try giving your parents examples and tell them you are pretty confident to do something else but are not interested in taking another drop year for the exam.
Hope this helps
All the best :)

Hello,

Have a talk with your parents. But before talking to them talk to yourself. Ask yourself this question

Why don't you want to repeat neet?

Do you have interest in other field?

If not neet then what you want to do?

Are you happy with that other field?

Now, go and freely talk to your parents. At start, they may not get convince but at the end of the day, they are your parents and your happiness is their happiness.

All the best.

Best wishes for future.

  1. Bachelor's Of Physiotherapy
  2. BAMS
