Depends on what your target is , here I'm mentioning for people who want to score between 90–99 % .

This is the best time to prepare for CAT ( i mean the month March). You get around seven months (March to September) for going through all topic in QA , LRDI and VA.

For doing this , if you are preparing from home , iwould recommend buy correspondence material from some coaching (CL preferred because i have studied from their material). The material has been well designed , go through the concepts and then practice all the questions. I feel this material would be enough and you won't need any other material.

If you intend to join, some coaching , just follow whatever they tell and do all the sheets and bookl with full devotion without running for any third party material or such.

Thus by September end, you should be thorough with all the topics and should have gained decent speed and accuracy. Now the last two months are the most crucial.

Also, you ought to start some test series around August or September. Join TIME or IMS because they have most accurate tests as well as a large number of students give that , thus wouldn't give you a fair idea of your standings.

In the last two months , you should revisit all the topics as well as keep giving tests , atleast 3 a week so that till November end you have given aroused 25 tests. Also make sure to do thorough analysis of your tests and work on your weak areas. CAT is all about rejection , getting 150 marks in CAT'16 would fetch you 99%. So , it's all about leaving the questions which you don't know and attempting what you are best at. So , all these mock analysis are meant for the same purpose ie you find out which questions you have to attempt as well as which questions you definitely don't have to attempt.

Doing all this , you will definitely get above 95%. Hope the answer helps you.

Hello Greetings

To start your preparation for CAT, first of all, you need to understand the pattern of CAT it consists of three sections quantitative aptitude, verbal and reading comprehension, logical reasoning and data interpretation. once you get well aware of the syllabus then you can divide a timetable and based on your Earlier knowledge you can give time to the different sections so if you are someone from mathematics background then you will find quantitative aptitude to be easier and if you are someone from language background then verbal and reading comprehension will be easier for you there for it was a point depends upon your background that which part will be easier for you.

Here are few points which will help you to prepare for CAT.

  • Start with your basics because once your basics are strong you will proceed further with a faster pace.
  • Don't roam within the syllabus just prepare a timetable and give proper time to all the three sections of the exam because if you don't make a proper timetable then it may happen that you will give some more time to other it is your favourite section and lose in the other.
  • The another important aspect of CAT preparation is time management because it is the age when you have a pressure of your future as well as if you are working professional then you have pressure from your work so it is better to have a good timetable and manage your study accordingly and also don't forget to make a progress report because this will reflect how you are utilising the day and in the progress
