how I clear my NDA exam if I am in class 12?

National Defense Academy( NDA ) exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year. It is one of the India’s prestigious competitive examination. By clearing the exam and SSB interview one get a rewarding career and selected as an officer in Indian Armed Force. This exam provides best opportunity for higher secondary pass out to pursue a career to serve the country and brings honor and prestige. Most of the student after passing class XII gives this exam and this number is increasing each year.

There are two papers in NDA written exam : Mathematics(120 question) and General Aptitude Test(GAT)(150 question). In GAT 100 GK+GS question and 50 english question. In order to qualify the exam one should get 25% marks in each paper. However to get a call for SSB interview one should aim minimum for 350 marks.

Investment needed to prepare and clear the exam are:-

UPSC NDA exam previous year question paper book(collection of last 20 years question paper) , Arihant’s Publication Pathfinder Book ,Arihant SSB Interview book, Lucent General Knowledge and most important is time.

Tips to crack NDA exam in first attempt:-

Follow the syllabus- Note down the syllabus of the exam and be stick to it. Make a note of the number of questions being asked from each topic in Mathematics and accordingly give time to those topic.

Start early- One should start preparing for the exam sincerely after passing Xth exam. Make a time table and each day cover some topics of syllabus from both paper.

Practice previous years paper- In order to have an insight of the question of exam and to analyze yourself practice previous years paper. Don’t think that you will practice question papers after finishing whole syllabus, do it simultaneously and do the analysis of the marks and question after finishing the mock test.

Improve speed and accuracy- To solve the 120 Mathematics question in 2 and half hour will require lot of practice and speed. In exam the negative marking is one-third so accuracy matter a lot in this exam and Avoid guess work. Remember accuracy and speed will not come in a week, it will take time.

Practice mock test- Two months before the exam start preparing for the mock test. Take it as original exam and complete both the paper in limited time and in one go. Though you can take a 15 minutes break after one paper. This will prepare you for real exam and remove your nervousness.

Have faith and confidence- In between preparation times you would might feel low. But have faith in yourself and always remember your goal. Have confidence that you will succeed.

Subject

Mathematics- Write all the required formula in one big page and paste it on the wall so that you can see it daily and remember. Solve the MCQ s given after each chapter end in Pathfinder book and practice it twice.

GAT - English- Remember 10 synonyms and antonyms daily, practice correction of error in sentences and prepositions from the book.

GK and GS- Solve the MCQs given in the end of each portion in book pathfinder and remember the facts given in the book. You can also read the topics of Lucent GK book. Revise all the MCQs and content of Pathfinder thrice.

Avoid too much content on internet and books. Stick to the above source.

Tips to crack the SSB interview:-

Improve communication skills and personality- Personality development takes times. Try to communicate in English with your friend to improve English communication. You can speak on any topic for 3 minutes and record it in phone recorder and listen. This will help you to improve.

Take part in outdoor activity- Play games to improve fitness. This will help you in physical fitness test.

Try to develop OLQ- Try to develop Officer like quality such as leadership, reasoning and organising ability, social adaptivity , decision making ability, liveliness etc.

Try to be original- When giving answers in SSB interview don’t bluff ,the interviewer is very experienced person so you can not fool him. Give original and honest answer.Have confidence and maintain eye contact.

Practice the GD on current events topic. When performing GTO task, show your leadership skills and cooperate with team members and find solutions by logical thinking.

For psychological test you can practice in time limit from the book Arhiant SSB Interview book and write positive answers.

National Defense Academy Examination can be cleared in class 12 if you prepare wisely with strong strategy, for that you can following tips:

• The paper consists of 3 parts, Mathematics, English and General Awareness
• One need to complete good portion of Mathematics before the exam, as the paper includes Maths of 11th and 12th. For that you must revise and practise 11th Maths and start grasping 12th Maths along
• English is of good level, for that focus on English classes in School and revise the basic Grammar and Vocabulary, you can also practise English from past year papers
• General Awareness carries the highest weightage in the paper, for that read newspaper daily and keep track of Current Affairs, you may also make notes. And you can refer to standard books for History, Geography, also prepare General Science till class 10th
