By giving UPSC or civil services exam you will have the chance to get a job in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), etc.

Firstly go through the entire syllabus, understnad the different papers and optionals and he patern of the exam.

you will have to qualify prelims in order to give the mains exam. so go through the syllabus for that as well.

then start reading NCERTS of socail sciences of classes 8-12, pdfs for the same can be downloaded as well from the official NCERT website.

Go through the main and standard list of books for history, geography, polity, ethics and others. Do not go overboard with the books. focus on the static part.

For the dynamic part read the newspaper or monthly magazines to keep up with the curent affairs and make notes of important headlines.

Go through old question papers, understand he kind and the difficulty of the question sbeing asked. practice. you need to write a lot to practice for UPSC. Learn how to manage time as mains papers involve a lot of writing answers in length.
