Let's say you have been allotted a seat in Round 1 and you reported to the College. But for a better allotment, you opted for Upgradation in Round 2. If you get a better seat in Round 2, your allotted seat in Round 1 gets automatically cancelled. But you have to take up the seat offered in Round 2. If you do not want to take up the seat and want to opt for State Counseling, you have to forfeit your security deposit that you paid for at the time of admission. This is because there is no free exit or upgrade option in Round 2. And that is why it is important to make appropriate choice fillings.
