The process of joining Indian Army after 10+2

National Defence Academy (NDA)

This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year. The age limit prescribed for NDA is 16 ½ to 19½ and candidates should be Class 12 pass. It is mandatory to have Physics and Maths for joining Air Force and Navy. The selection comprises written exam and SSB Interview.

TES (10+2)

Technical Entry Scheme or TES is a national level exam, conducted for recruitment of officers in the technical branch of Indian Army for granting Permanent Commission in the Army technical division. The age limit prescribed for this exam is 19 to 24 years. Aspirants must have passed 10+2/HSC with a minimum aggregate of 70% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Process of joining Army after graduation

CDS :

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts CDS. To be eligible for CDS examination candidates must be between 20 to 24 years and have passed graduation. The exam is conducted in two stages – written exam and SSB Interview.

SSC (JAG)

The age limit for this recruitment is 21 to 27 years. Applicants must be graduate with LLB with 55% marks. The notification is released by Directorate General Recruiting / AG Branch in Jul/Aug and Jan/Feb.

University Entry Scheme

The notification is released by Directorate General Recruiting / AG Branch in Jun/Jul. The age limit is 18 to 24 years. Pre Final year students of Notified Engineering Streams can apply.

There are 2 entries after 12th. One is NDA and the other is TES. For NDA there will be a written test first and for TES  there will be direct interview on the basis of 12th cutoff.

NDA eligibility:

The educational qualification: you should be passed 10+2 (with physics and mathematics) to apply for the exam. The exam is conducted twice every year

Age limit: Your age limit should be 16 to 19 Years.


TES Eligibility

Education qualification: You should be passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from recognized education boards.

Age limit: You must not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years.

Important tips you can prefer:Syllabus Details: You must have a proper source of the syllabus because a well-prescribed syllabus supports you in making a proper schedule for the examination. Make A Proper Schedule: You should make a detailed schedule for the examination, those students follow a schedule they may get success in the examination. Basic Logic Should Be Clear: You must do the analysis of complete syllabus as well as mark the important topics which need concentration. Practice: Do practise as much you can because Practice will help you in achieving the goal, and a practice is the only key which provides you with an assurance for success in the examination. Short Notes: Notes will help you in taking the permanent record, and it always helps to a candidate in preparing best for the examination. Good Luck!
