Hello Aspirant,
I hope you are doing well. If you want to be a CA, I'd like to tell you that when you finish your 10th grade schooling, you can choose any stream and then study for the CA Exam. For CA, there are no stream-specific eligibility requirements. Though it is recommended that you study commerce if you want to become a CA so that you may acquire a feel for the areas and topics that will be included on the exam. To be eligible for CPT, candidates from the Commerce stream must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in their 12th exams. Candidates from other streams must have received a combined score of 55 percent in their 12th board exams, excluding Mathematics, and 60 percent including Mathematics.
------- Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), as part of a new rule, has allowed students who pass Class X to enrol with the institute for the entry-level CA foundation course.
------ This new rule would help aspirants turn chartered accountants six months earlier.
------- Though CPT registration is allowed after Class X, admission will be regularized only if the student clears Class XII.
Earlier, students could register for the course only after appearing in their Class XII examinations, and write the foundation exam only after a four-month study period.
Under the new system, this study period can be completed while pursuing Class XI and XII.
• CA foundation exams are held twice a year — in May/ June and in November/December . The foundation course comprises four papers, out of which two are subjective and two objective types.
