Pros of doing 5-year dual degree integrated M.tech

  1. If you have 100% sure you will pursue M.tech after completing of your B.tech than it's best choice.
  2. You can study subjects which is related to your branch after your 2 year.
  3. You can save lot's of time.
  4. I have specific direction where you are going.
  5. You will not forced to study unnecessary subject which is not helpful in your future job.
  6. No need to prepare for extra entrance exam for high degree.
  7. Your situation is like buy one get one free concept.

Cons of doing 5-year dual degree integrated M.tech

  • Same environment for long 5 year term.
  • You may get bored in middle of your course.
  • You will have not flexible environment has B.tech person.
  • You can't able to Swift branch after completing of your M.tech
  • You can't even change your domain.

Integrated MTech would be certainly equivalent. Your specialization will get decided in the beginning. While in conventional you have to decide after BTech.

Important point is ranking of institute. If it is IIT nothing like it. For other you should check institute ranking and credibility.

Taking up an integrated course adds two whole years to your experience. Students who complete an integrated course have the advantage of opting to pursue a Ph. D in their field.
