Hello!
iPATE is an exam which is conducted to test proficiency and technical knowledge of Engineering Graduates in their domain for providing employment opportunities both in public and private sectors where as GATE is conducted to test academic knowledge of the candidate in their chosen domain to help them to get admission in colleges (IITs, NITs, IISC, etc) for higher studies and also PSUs in India.
iPATE is a procedure for recruiting students which not only includes technical syllabus but also has aptitude arbitration rules,etc.
