An ammeter is a measuring device used to measure the electric current in a circuit . A voltmeter is connected in parallel with a device to measure it's voltage, while an ammeter is connected in series with a device to measure it's current.

see an ammeter is a current measuring device , which used to measure current in an electric circuit,Current, in a circuit can be measured at a single point in the circuit anywhere along the conductor. however ammeter in connected in series with a device in a circuit in which current you want to measure.
