Hello

Catagory wise rank is useful in NEET PG All India Quota (AIQ) which is all done by MCC i.e Medical Counselling Committee. This helps for students who comes under reservation Catagory i.e All India Quota is secured seats for 15% and rest of 85% is secured by state Quota seats.

The NEET-PG Reservation policy:

The Medical Counseling Committee shall have reserve following percentage of seats for each category as mentioned in the following:

  • SC catagory - 15%
  • ST Catagory- 7.5%
  • OBC(Non-creamy layer)- 27%
  • EWS Catagory-10%
  • PWD- 0.5%

But there is no reservations for SC/ST/OBC-PH students in the armed forces Medical Services institutions.

All the best for your bright future ahead!

Hello Aspirant

You can use category rank if you fall inside the reservation category, yes. Your rank among candidates who took the exam in that category is known as your category rank. For instance, if someone receives a category rank of 5600 from the SC category, it indicates that he placed 5600 out of all SC candidates who took the exam. If you don't get a seat in the all-India quota, your category rank will be helpful to you.

Thanks
