how is DIAT / AIT pune and how is its cut off for cse?

The cut off for admission in AIT, Pune in the previous year for the general category was a rank of 59627 for the Computer Science Engineering branch. Considering this you would require a rank around this range for a fair chance of admission here.

The eligibility criteria for this college states that in Class XII or equivalent you require compulsory subjects Physics and Mathematics alongwith one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject and you should obtain at least 50% in the above combination of subjects.

Just like any other college, DIAT also has its pros and cons. I will list few of them here:

1. Unique work experience: the students who have joined through GATE will get the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with officers working in the tri-forces and scientists from various R&D companies like DRDO, BEL, etc.
2. Being funded by the DRDO, the lab facilities here are excellent(much better than most of the IITs and NITs, as quoted by ex-IITB faculty, currectly working in DIAT). The extent to which students use them depends on the individual.
3. The institute encourages research work in a very-student-supportive-way. The campus is completely safe and students who like working late nights will be given access to their labs whenever they want, with complete security.
4. Since DIAT doesnt have UG proramme, the number of students is comparitively less; and the quality of education is more.
5. Unlike other institutes, there will not be any work pressure; the students get plenty of time to prepare for other competitive exams while pursuing their Masters degree.
6. The beautiful campus and the serene Khadakwasla dam add to the perfect location of the campus. It keeps students away from stress and motivates students for physical fitness and recreation.
7. Hostel: As the institute was first designed exclusively for scientists and service officers, the hostel is actually a guest house; it accomodates 2 students (or 4 if neccessary) in a spacious hall with attatched bathroom with geyser and a balcony for every room.
8. Also, DIAT has a stardom with which the students can easily get internship opportunities, etc. in renowed institutes like DRDO, ISRO, etc.
