The Electronics and computer engineering at Thapar University is a very good option as Thapar is a very know college in india. Now talking about the placement, 75% students get placed in the core like IT and consulting. The average placement for the year 2017 was 6 lakhs with 70% placement.
I recommend you to join ECE in Thapar and try to keep your CGPA above 8.4 and you will surely get placed in some good companies.

Sir Varun Rathore please explain a little bit more why ECE is a good option at Thapar...as I read somewhere that it makes you inelligible for government jobs and even it said to prefer for core branch rather than a mix of two...students don’t even have a clue of the branch in which they are studying...please reply soon

Hello shreya, Yes it's true that after taking ECE it becomes difficult to get government job. As it is a mixture so it has demand in private.
