It's a new branch/department, started in 2013 only. The food sector is growing a big way in India and needs trained/skilled manpower. Huge scope and a bright future. Moreover, it's NIT Rourkela.

For 2018 batch following is the placement statistics:

Total Student Strength: 22

Student opted for Campus Placements: 19

Total Job Offers: 20

Core Job Offers: 5

Total Student Placed: 17

Highest CTC: 10 lpa (non-core) and 5.5 lpa (core)

Avg CTC: 5 lpa

Some of the core companies visiting the campus for placement are Milk Mantra, IDMC, Tetra Pak, Coca-cola, Pepsi, ITC, Cargill etc. The list is growing every year.
