IMI Kolkata is considered a decent college and it is one of the colleges among the top 50 according to NIRF list 2019. The following factors can be considered and analysed upon in order to consider this college:
Placements
Recently this college has shown a trend for 100% placement of its batch. Maximum package attained was Rs. 20 lakhs and minimum was Rs. 5 lakhs. The average salary for the batch is Rs. 6-7 LPA. The job roles offered were diverse from marketing research to taxation. Even the internship has shown a a trend of 100%.
Infrastructure
It is one the colleges having the best infrastructure. All the contemporary facilities are provided by the college. 24- hr Wi-Fi is available and you can even enjoy the good collection of books in their library.
Faculty
The faculty is very skilled and among the renowned individuals of this industry too. They use distinctive methods of learning which a student might expect for a good b-school.
Selection procedure
Once you have appeared for the entrance exam and cleared the cut off for any of the three exams – CAT, XAT or GMAT, you will be called for WAT-PI round.
The cut off for CAT – 80%ile and XAT- 80%ile.
WAT : This test evaluates your normal writing skills which include spelling and grammar and articulation skills.
PI : This usually lasts for 15 minutes. The aim of this round to know and understand how the candidate is and what is his approach to leadership.
The final selection is based on the entrance exam score, academic profile, verbal ability percentile, WAT/PI score and work experience (if any).
