Dear aspirant....!!
Instrumentation Engineering in NITA isn't a very old branch, started off in the year 2009, which, I'd say, accounts for its less faculty count .
The infrastructure and facilities are pretty much as same as any other branch. Labs are well equipped, faculties- very helpful and student friendly. And placement statistics are pretty decent as well.
But yes, in order to get a good placement, you have to put effort. You need to go through some of the programming languages, Datastructure, or any other such courses, from yourself, which will help you get placed in an IT firm.
Truth to be spoken, not many core companies visit NITA for Instrumentation, the count being at 2-3 companies every year. Some of them pay pretty good, others, not so much.
As to PSUs, they have only been coming for the last 2-3 years and ofcourse, a good number of people get placed in them. But for that, you have to know your branch well, your basics clear and the core subjects well read.
All in all, Instrumentation is a really good branch, you can score more with the littlest of effort and the opportunities are plenty.
I'd say go for it, give your best and you'll be successful.
