Hi,
Let me give you an advice. If possible, dont go to Manipal. Every university in this group is real shit. Believe me; my own brother went to study at MIT, majoring in IT. He dropped out in his second year and joined NIT Hamirpur. Manipal is immensely overrated (due to Satya Nadella and Suri) and the professors are not good at all. Its the most expensive engineering university in India but the ROI is very low. The amount of investment you make to study at Manipal, it will take you minimum 6 years to make any profit out of it. Most companies look for recruiting the students from Government colleges because they are under the impression that most of the students in private engineering colleges get admission via donation or capitation fees and they cannot discriminate between the original good students and the rich fake ones. There is also an option to upgrade your branch after your first year at MIT. But DONT GET BEFOOLED BY THAT. ONLY 1-2% STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO UPGRADE SUCCESSFULLY. It depends largely upon the seat availability. You will need above 9 CGPA minimum to even stand a chance which is immensely difficult. Think about it this way. You are taking the seat of a student after first year if you successfully upgrade your branch. But why will the student leave his seat suddenly after studying throughout the first year? This is very rare. And even if this happens, the student leaves his seat because he is frustrated with life at Manipal even though he got a better rank than you.
There is the other campus which has been opened in Jaipur just to make huge profits. Its only 4 years old and the first batch hasnt passed out yet. So it will be a huge bet on your future if you really consider joining the Jaipur campus. The reviews for the first batch at MUJ are really bad. Placements for core branches in MUJ are imaginary. There aint any alumni network at MUJ which makes it extremely difficult for the students to find a job outside campus at MUJ.
So, if possible, try avoiding any university of the Manipal group. Its shit rich and only for the extremely rich people. You will get mocked every moment if you are a nerd and suck at romance. Most of the Manipalites end up as drug, narcotics and alcohol addicts because they have their parents business to back them up!!
Try considering the universities under JEE Mains/Advanced, BITSAT or even VITEEE, SRMJEE or KIITEEE if you can afford them. But please dont waste your life at Manipal.
But if you are still keen on joining Manipal, go for the MAIN CAMPUS AND NOT THE JAIPUR ONE. Also only a FEW BRANCHES IN THE MAIN CAMPUS ARE COMPARATIVELY GOOD FOR THE HUGE INVESTMENT. THE FEW BRANCHES THAT ARE JUST GOOD ARE COMPUTER SCIENCE, MECHANICAL, COMPUTER COMMUNICATION AND MECHATRONICS. THAT TOO ONLY AT THE MAIN CAMPUS IN KARNATAKA. I REPEAT ONLY AT THE MAIN CAMPUS. PLEASE dont waste your life by coming at Jaipur. The faculty and placement really really suck at Jaipur. Specially the Computer Science department. The placement for the first batch at Jaipur is still on but till now, only 75% of the students of the CS department have been placed with an average salary of only 3.5-4 lacs annually. And DONT JOIN ANY OTHER BRANCH IN THE MAIN CAMPUS EXCEPT THE ONES MENTIONED EARLIER. No core companies come for placements for the other branches.
Dont waste your parents valuable money on even the registration of counseling for the engineering courses of Manipal. It will take more than 11K and the money is not refundable. Most students waste this registration fees and Manipal makes a good profit.
Thanks
