• Placement: This is the main aspect people are looking for while choosing a college.The companies where the students got placed in 2018: Robert Bosch,TCS,Sapoorji  Palloonji,Tega industries, CTS, Hi tech engineering,HDFC Limited,EMC power,Veda IIT,Value prospects and few more.You can clearly see that the number of companies which recruit students from this institution is quite high.

Hi ! It's not a good government college at all. Jalpaiguri government college doesn't stand in n nirf ranking. It is much worse than Jadavpur University and almost equals to Kalyani government college. It's placement is like not good with avg placement package is 3 lacs per annum. Company doesn't visited too much here due to its interior location. Infrastructure and campus is also not so good. So hope you understand and best of luck to you.

An Autonomous Government college:- Apart from being a premier institute for technical education, JGEC is also an institution with the autonomous and government tag.

Faculty:- The faculty in this college is great when it comes to the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Civil Engineering. The professors help a lot throughout the course and later on.

Alumni Network:- The alumni Network is very vast and spreads all over the world. The college does have a very strong alumni network who conducts various programs for the benefit of the students. Alumni of the company serves the best of the MNCs throughout the world, alumni from this institute is present in almost every public sector units. There are professors who are present in IITs, UNT Dallas etc. and various prestigious universities who are Alumni of this college.

The Anupam Roy Band & Rupam Islam's Fossils(Band) performed on 24 March 2016 in JECLAT 2016 "Social Night". In 2017 Social night Lost Stories and The Bolpur Blues performed and the 2018 social night was glorified by the presence of Akriti Kakkar and Timir Biswas.

The techno-management festival of JGEC is known as Sristi.

It is the biggest techno-management festival ofNorth Bengal. Events include technical workshops, seminars, and competitions. Competitions under the banner of Robotics like Robosoccer, Firebird II, Eagle Claw and Mission Entente take place. Events like Hacking and coding competitions and Tech quiz takes place under the banner of Technozion. Various management events take place where famous industrialists enlighten the students.
