Dear Aspirant,

I am studying at Nift Chennai since last three years and I have friends who are in other campuses too. So I believe I can give you an honest answer which will give you a larger picture.

Being a design college, Nift is everything a creative person wish for. However there is lot of competition in creative fields compared to any other courses. In Academic point of view, You will have all the subjects that will enable you to think bigger and broader. One has to be ready determined and ambitious to surpass all the semesters and juries.

You will have skill based and process based subjects the most i.e fashion illustration and design process. You will also technical subjects to understand the apparel technology. You will learn Photgraphy and design softwares such as Adobe Photoshop and illustrator.

There is a lot of focus on craft clusters intiatives. One has to be invested in diverse interests to make the best of the degree and campus. You will have a lot of exposure from industry visits, guest list for and internships. Nift Resource centers ( libraries ) have it all. You will find n number of books that will inspire you and broaden your intellect.

Other than Academics, Nift campuses have a lot of extra curricular activities too. Every year, there is a competition between all the campuses to showcase their talents. i.e Nift Converge. Also Intercollege fest i.e Nift Spectrum takes place in every campus where they host other colleges in their premises. It is fun and spectacular event where all the departments showcase their fashion shows and they host fashion shows for other colleges too. You will also have interdepartment competitions where all the departments prevailing in the college participate and compete each other.

There are cultural clubs, photography club, adventure club, literature club for students.It's a lot of fun and great place to learn. Also there is lot of stress and hectic schedules. But it's up to students how they would tackle situations. A student will grow and learn a lot. You will have industry internships.

Nift makes you stronger enough to emerge through and deal with competition and criticrism. It enables you to be good in more than one aspect. The campuses are not huge but each campus is one of a kind and equipped to educate the future designers.
