Hi,

Manav Rachna University has pretty good standards of teaching. You can easily get a job here in your final year in some of the medium or small sized companies like the ones which are popular in Noida/Gurgaon. And some other popular companies like TCS, Accenture etc also hire students. They don't do placement drives in campus now but they do hire on the basis of their competitions such as Accenture Innovation Jockey, Hackathons, Idea Submission contests etc. TCS also organises a coding competition Codevita through which it hires students. These things are in IPU colleges too.

MRU has now included new and exciting courses such as Python, AI, Android and lots more. You can check their website for more information or you can have a campus tour and talk to students there!

If it's about getting skilled and placed in a top notch IT Company then it depends on you. How well do you develop your overall personality in college.

If you wanna ace at your B.Tech you might need to consider following things:

  1. Focus on your programming. Your studies come later! Theory subjects and all those subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Digital Electronics etc need not to be studied thoroughly if you want to pursue your career in IT. For these subjects, study before your internals, finals , practicals. As they do carry a lot of weightage to your overall academic percentage..so DON'T IGNORE THESE SUBJECTS. There are huge giant IT companies which ask for 70+% in B.Tech and mostly students are not able to get this too!
  2. If you're a beginner with programming then Learn C, then C++ and then Java. Having known with the syntax and statements you must surely go to platforms such as CodeChef, HackerRank, HackerEarth. Because nowadays, no one is really interested in asking you whether you know Bubble Sort or loops. They directly ask you the competitve programming questions. You must need to be strong with your Data structure concepts too.
  3. GeeksforGeeks will really help you out from starting.
  4. Be a part of a society in college where you can get to learn and develop projects. Know people! Make a good network. This thing will really help you out in searching for jobs/internships.
  5. Be a part of a fun club/dance/drama/music society. Don't be a nerd everytime.
  6. Before jumping into Machine Learning, AI, etc, MUST LEARN JAVA!
  7. From your first year, Make it a habit to practice Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and Verbal too. Just take out one hour from your busy schedule and get this done. Companies do not hire you on the basis of your coding knowledge only. They ask for exuberant problem solvers! Just be smart! Study online and practice books too. Apart from the job perspective, these skills will really help you in your CAT or other entrance tests too.

Well that's all for you. MRU is good in terms of placements, infrastructure, etc. Its  a good choice, you can opt for it.

I hope it helps.

Good luck.
