How is MD Radiotherapy in Kidwai memorial institute and how's PG life?
One of the key specialties in catering services to the patients at KMIO is radiation oncology. Every year, about 8000 patients are treated, with roughly 350 patients treated every day using Teletherapy and about 2000 patients receiving Brachytherapy. Consultants, Resident Surgeons, Post Graduate Students, and Medical Physicists are all well-represented in the Department. As seen below, it has adequate Teletherapy and Brachytherapy facilities. At KMIO, the department participates actively in multidisciplinary clinics, teaching, and research. As a regional cancer center, it is also our responsibility to keep ourselves up to speed so that we can serve our patients with the most up-to-date treatment. For each of these machines, KMIO has the necessary radiotherapy team, including full-time radiation oncologists, radiation physicists, radiation therapy technologists or radiotherapists, nurses, and support people.
It has advanced state-of-the-art Teletherapy like 3DCRT, IMRT, HDR, and LDR Brachytherapy, as well as Brachy-vision and Abacus capabilities.
