The mess fees ranged from 14,000 to 16,000. 3,000-4,000 is taken as a deposit for mess which is included in the above-mentioned fees. The hostel facility is good. The maintenance is very well. The mess food is of not very good taste. But this is the condition in every mess. You will never find good food in any mess.
CAMPUS LIFEBeing an NIT, VNIT has funds for different clubs. There are 20-25 clubs ranging from Robotics, Social, Drama, Literary, Cycling, Photography, etc. Since these clubs get funds ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 every year, they organize enough events which are satisfactory. Though each club plans more events for which they always demand more funds. Many college-level festivals are organized as I already mentioned above. Many interdepartmental gatherings are also organized by the student council of the college like Institute Gathering. Intradepartmental Gatherings named DG and other such gatherings are also organized. Each club keeps on organizing such gatherings. The sports facility is above average for every student who takes an interest in sports. The level of teams in every sport is good and the team of every sport goes for inter NIT sports competitions.

COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEWBTech students are required to complete 170 credits to complete their B.Tech Curriculum. Each theory Course is of 3 credits and a practical course is of 1 credit. If the theory course has tutorial included, then it is of 4 credit. Three exams are conducted for every course:- 1. Sessional 1 - 15 Marks, 2. Sessional 2 - 15 Marks, 3. End Semester - 60 Marks, 4. Internal - 10 Marks, Awarding internal marks to students is totally dependent on the professor of the course. Different methods are followed - quiz for 10 marks, converting attendance to marks, Project, Giving marks obtained in practical Lab to Internal Marks, etc. The class timing is 8 AM to 1 PM where each class is of 1 hour. It depends on the students time table that how many classes he has on a particular day. Each course is alloted 3 classes of 1-hour timing every week. If there is a tutorial then 1-hour tutorial class. If it is practical then, there will be 1 lab of 2 hours from 2 PM to 4 PM or 4 PM to 6 PM. It won't be hectic if you have 4-5 Theory and 1-2 Labs in a semester. But it may become a little hectic if you have more classes than that. In every Lab, you are required to write journals with the hand which proves to be a boring task.
Cheers!
