Hi,

To be honest doing M.Sc. Maths from NIT Warangal is great. If you want to go for higher studies (PhD etc), i will suggest you to go for Applied Maths but this doesn’t means you can’t do PhD after taking Scientific Computing. Out of 21 students in Sci. Computing(2018–2020 batch),12 are going for Placements and rest 9 students are going for PhD. So it completely depends on your area of Interest, what you want to do. Both branches are equally good.

Also, i suggest if you are looking for Sci.Computing, try to cover C++ and Data Structures in Summer Vacations that would be an advantage. If you are not able to do, they will teach here.

Placements are pretty good at NIT Warangal for this course, Students from MSc Maths branch got placed in following companies and coaching institutes -

Chances of studying abroad after this depends completely on your skills and knowledge, how you score in academics etc. I can say doing M.Sc. Maths from NIT Warangal is worth, and you get many opportunities to do interns, or study abroad or get Placements.
