Hey Manjunath! National Institute of Technology, Suratkhal (NIT Suratkhal) is a Deemed University. It is located in Suratkhal, Karnataka. The institute is recognized UGC and approved AICTE. It is one of the oldest and pioneer Technical Institutions in India started in 1960.

NITK offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in various specializations. Admissions at NIT Suratkhal to these courses are conducted every year. But when we come to comparison of placements with CSE then no doubt CSE has better placements.

Placements of IT branch in NITK surathkal is pretty good , almost same as CSE branch.

—In the academic year 2018–2019, out of 88 eligible students 84 were placed with average package of 11.27 lakhs p.a. whereas average of CSE branch was 12.87 lakhs p.a.

—Maximum package of IT was 25lakhs and minimum being 4.3 lakhs.

—And number of IT companies visiting college for placement was 162 , a pretty good number!

—Also as only NITK has IT branch among the top 3 NITs , thus giving NITK IT graduates edge over the other IT graduates.
