M.tech communications is not upto mark in the current situation at VIT,Vellore.
Few Intern offers..only 1 got selected till date in communications.
In order to get eligibilty you should certainly be among top -5-10 with grades closer to 8.8-9. Majority of interns you would be called for..are not specific to your discipline of study.Companies with Interdisciplinary subjects generally call u for interns...Some like Broadcomm...will recruit hardly 3(max). companies like Honeywell,Seimens(if it comes??? !!) you would be eligible..A comm sys guy in VIT is in a great danger...Ofcourse the same is the case with VLSI guys also. Software Interns are at their best in VIT. Sorry if u have had great expectations about...but This is the truth :(
My answer is to just avoid VIT for Mtech. They will primarily focus more on their Btech graduates. The fee structure is also quite high for Mtech. I request you to prepare well for gate and secure in a seat in IIT or NIT rather than any other private institution.
All the best!!
