How is Veltech Institute of science and technology with regard to ranking, studies and placements?.
Hello Umesh..
Thanks for contacting Careers360..
Things you should check before taking admission in Veltech college :
1.Quality of education- As for vel tech, i have seen it growing and becoming better each day. Faculties are very helpful but you should know how to take help. Libraries are full with books , i needed not to buy books for semester exams , it was all there in the libraries.
2.Placements- Placements start only in 4th year of b.tech and if you are eligible then you will be placed. In 2015, during my 7th semester companies started to recruit and i got placed in 2nd company which came to our campus that was wipro limited. The same year cyclone affected most part of chennai and so most of my friends were left without campus placement.
3.Infrastructure- Never believe the website, go to the college and check yourself. As for vel tech , it has improved a lot and improving. About labs, (i was an ece guy) many electrical and electronic devices are old but they will change if you lodge complaints with your groups.
4.Hostel life- Accommodation is very good but choose your roommates wisely. Food is excellent during new admissions and just good during semesters and mind blowing at the end of semester when the strenght of hostellites are very less. There are basketball ball court , cricket ground , vollyball and many more grounds and they also organise tournaments in college as well as for hostels seperately.
5.Classmates - Students from all over india are there and mostly locals are in number. I am from bokaro, jharkhand so i don’t know how to speak or understand tamil. At the starting it was kind of irritating but later i learned the essentials.
I would say vel tech is good for b.tech but don’t go on my advise visit the campus once talk to some faculties and students about the college and decide later.
All the best:)
