Hello Anita

VIIT pune is one of the most preferred college in Maharashtra. The cutoffs for Electronics Engineering is very high. The institution is an autonomous college hence prepare it's own syllabus and update it keeping industry skills on mind. The examination pressure is very less so you can focus on studies well. The faculties are extremely good help for guidance in academic, Research papers, projects etc. However comming to the placements the scenario is nit that much good comparing to CS and IT branches. Some of the students get chance to go in core fields while others choose CS and it background.

Hope this helps..

Thank you.

Dear Anita,

VIIT is a great college according to my point of view. The only worry here is your above 70% attendance. They are very strict regarding attendance. Like other colleges VIIT also has its own cultural and technical fest, which is less cultural and more technical oriented. Campus Placements of VIIT are excellent , as they conduct it with Autonomous VIT as these two colleges are sister branch, I have heard news that VIIT too has achieved autonomous status not sure but.Coming to placements, if you have maintain first class (i.e above 60%) no one can stop you from getting placed from campus drive as lots of company visit their campus.Talking about electronics engineering it is a great platform.

Specially electronics department is very strict regarding their academic , which I personally feel is excellent.

Hello anita,

VIT( Vishwakarma Institute of Technology) pune.

First of all let me tell you that in VIT there are 2 separate departments. One is ENTC(Electronics and Telecommunications) and the other is Elex (Electronics).

Let's consider point wise

  1. Teaching - The teachers like all other branches are really good and help you for projects, paper writing and also non-academic stuff. You just have to be a sincere student.
  2. Examinations - The exam system of VIT is very easy to score. There are mid sems and end sems which lowers the burden and gives you more time to learn in depth about the topics.
  3. Labs - Labs have all the facilities which you will require.
  4. Internships - Internships in core electronics companies are very rare and you need to search for an internship on your own. If you are from CS or IT department then getting internships is comparatively very easy as there are a lot of options.
  5. Placements - There are a few core electronics companies which offer placements at VIT. If you have a great record you may get placements as high as 23 lakhs per annum. But as compared to CS and IT, the packages are not very high and this is the case everywhere.
  6. Syllabus - Since VIT is an autonomous college, the syllabus is updated regularly as per industry norms. Courses from CS department enrich your resume and you can also work in IT sector or later shift to CS for your masters.
  7. Exchange Programs - If you are interested you can opt for the exchange programs in renowned universities in singapore, germany, canada, USA. But you will have to pay from your own pocket :p
  8. Overall VIT is a very good college and electronics branch has a fairly high cutoff so you will be studying with talented students.
  9. NOTE : THERE IS NO BRANCH CHANGE OPTION IN VIT AFTER THE 1ST YEAR. So if you later want to shift to any other branch, it is not possible.
  10. Thank you and all the best.
